about the ESP
Supporting Our Community with the Help of the Irish Government
The Irish Association of Korea (IAK) is incredibly grateful for the unwavering support of the Government of Ireland’s Emigrant Support Programme (ESP). This funding is not just beneficial—it is critical to our ability to serve and strengthen the Irish community in Korea. Through the ESP, we can continue to build meaningful connections, provide welfare support, and celebrate Irish culture in a way that is both impactful and far-reaching.
Why ESP Matters
Each year, the ESP allows us to:
Organize cultural events that bring the Irish spirit to Korea, including our flagship St. Patrick’s Festival.
Provide essential welfare and mental health support to Irish citizens through trusted partners like Helplink.
Foster community engagement through social gatherings, sports sponsorships, and volunteer opportunities.
Support Irish professionals in Korea through our Ireland-Korea Professionals Network (IKPN).
Ensure new arrivals and long-term residents alike feel connected to a welcoming and supportive community.
Our Deep Appreciation
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and the Irish Government for recognizing the importance of our work and continuing to invest in the Irish community abroad. The ESP is a lifeline that ensures we can operate at our best, and we are committed to making the most of this incredible support.
We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to the Embassy of Ireland in Korea for their ongoing encouragement, collaboration, and support. Their partnership is invaluable in helping us sustain and grow our initiatives, ensuring that the Irish community in Korea remains connected, supported, and celebrated.
Looking Forward
With the continued backing of the ESP, we aim to expand our reach, develop new initiatives, and further solidify the presence of Irish culture and community support in Korea. We hope that DFA officials reviewing our work see the tangible impact their support enables—and that this recognition leads to even greater opportunities to grow and enhance our mission.
Thank you to everyone who makes this possible. Go raibh míle maith agaibh!
