Darkness into Light, 2018
The second annual Darkness into Light Seoul will take place early on the morning of Saturday, May 12th, by Yeouinaru station, along the Han River.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with this event, it is a 5km walk that starts before dawn (at approximately 4.15am) and involves participants walking to meet the sunrise; from darkness into light!
The Darkness into Light phenomenon originated in Ireland, in 2009, as a fundraiser for Pieta House, a charity that works to provide a free treatment programme for people who are in suicidal distress, or who participate in self-harming behaviours. Since then Darkness into Light has grown to more than 150 locations around the world. Last year, saw the first Darkness into Light being held in Seoul and, the Irish Association of Korea are proud to be a part of the event again this year.
